Dog Photographer in Yorkshire & Nottinghamshire

I photograph relaxed dog and pet portrait sessions across Yorkshire and Nottinghamshire, creating natural outdoor images that feel honest, warm, and full of personality. Some sessions are chaotic, muddy, and full of energy. Others are slower and quieter. Every dog is different, and that’s exactly the point.
Whether it’s a young dog charging through woodland or an older companion you know you don’t have forever, the aim is always the same: photographs that genuinely feel like them.

Relaxed Outdoor Dog Photography
Most of my dog sessions take place outdoors in locations that give everyone space to relax. Clumber Park is a favourite for its soft light and open landscapes, but I also photograph sessions across Yorkshire, Nottinghamshire, and beyond.
There’s no pressure for dogs to behave perfectly. Some ignore me completely. Some sprint around for an hour. Some sit quietly beside their owners the entire session. The personality matters far more than obedience.
The best images usually happen in between moments naturally, rather than through anything stiff or over-posed.
Dog Photography That Includes the Whole Family
Those are the photographs that tend to matter more as the years pass.

Booking Your Dog Photography Session
If you’d like relaxed photographs that feel natural rather than staged, I’d love to hear from you.
I photograph a wide range of relaxed portrait sessions across Yorkshire and Nottinghamshire, including dogs, families, maternity, newborns, and outdoor lifestyle photography.
Many dog sessions naturally become family sessions too, with children, couples, and multiple generations all included as part of the story.
I regularly photograph portrait sessions at Clumber Park, where dogs and families can properly relax rather than feeling rushed.

Frequently Asked Questions
What if my dog won’t sit still?
That’s completely normal, and honestly, most dogs don’t. Sessions are relaxed and unhurried, with plenty of time for walking, playing, exploring, and letting your dog settle naturally. Some of the best photographs happen in between moments rather than trying to force perfect behaviour.
Where do dog photography sessions take place?
Most sessions take place outdoors across Yorkshire and Nottinghamshire. Clumber Park is a favourite thanks to its woodland, open spaces, and beautiful evening light, but I also photograph at a range of countryside and woodland locations depending on the look and feel you’d like.
Can family members be included in the session?
Absolutely. Dogs are family members, so many sessions naturally include couples, children, or the whole family. Often, the photographs people treasure most are the quieter moments together rather than formal portraits.
Do you photograph older dogs?
Yes, and those sessions often become incredibly meaningful over time. Older dogs usually work at their own pace, and sessions are kept calm, relaxed, and flexible around them. If your dog is slowing down and you’ve been thinking about booking a session, it’s usually worth doing sooner rather than later.
What should we bring to the session?
A lead, favourite treats, water, and anything your dog feels comfortable with. Some owners also bring a favourite toy or blanket. There’s no need for anything overly formal — the aim is natural photographs that feel like your dog in everyday life.
What happens if the weather is bad?
Outdoor sessions can always be rearranged if the weather is particularly poor. Soft overcast days can actually photograph beautifully, but heavy rain and strong winds usually aren’t ideal for relaxed sessions — unless your dog happens to enjoy complete chaos. Some do. Humans created cockapoos and now we all live with the consequences.
