Laura and Luke had the best day of their lives at the beautiful Tithe Barn, Bolton Abbey – and I honestly feel like I have the best job in the world, capturing days like this as a Yorkshire wedding photographer. Their wedding was full of joy, laughter, and those little moments you can’t stage – the ones that make the photos even more special.

Set in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales, Tithe Barn is part of the historic Bolton Abbey estate. With sweeping views, oak beams draped in fairy lights, and stone walls that glow beautifully in natural light, it’s one of the most romantic venues in Yorkshire.
It’s run by the brilliant team at Cripps & Co and has everything couples could want for a wedding:
- Room for up to 200 guests for a ceremony, and 300 for evening celebrations.
- Feast-style dining with their legendary indoor BBQ and rotisserie.
- Cosy terraces with fire pits for evening drinks.
- Late licence until 1am for non-stop dancing under the chandeliers.
No matter the season, Tithe Barn is a stunning backdrop for wedding photography – whether it’s golden-hour portraits by the priory ruins or sparkler exits under the stars.

The Ceremony
Laura walked down the aisle glowing, with Luke trying hard to hold back the tears. The barn was filled with soft light streaming through the tall windows, giving everything a warm, golden glow – perfect for capturing those natural, unposed moments.
Portraits in the Yorkshire Dales
After the ceremony, we slipped outside into the breathtaking grounds of Bolton Abbey. With rolling hills, ancient ruins, and sweeping views of the River Wharfe, it felt like we had the whole Dales to ourselves. Laura and Luke were so relaxed in front of the camera – just laughing, chatting, and taking a moment to soak it all in.
The Reception & Evening Party
Inside the barn, the celebrations were in full swing. The speeches had everyone laughing (and wiping away a few tears), the food was incredible, and by the time the evening kicked off the dancefloor was completely packed. Luke didn’t leave it all night!
One of my favourite moments was catching Laura’s face during the first dance – pure happiness, surrounded by all their family and friends under those twinkling barn lights.
Final Thoughts
Laura & Luke’s Tithe Barn wedding was everything a Yorkshire wedding should be – relaxed, joyful, and full of love. The combination of this stunning venue and such a wonderful couple made it a day to remember.
